California Child Care Instructor Upgrade
This 16-hour course will prepare current Red Cross First Aid/ CPR/AED instructors
to teach the EMSA approved 15-hour CA Child Care curriculum.
Prerequisites: *Current American Red Cross First Aid/ CPR/AED instructor. Must have a current Adult/Child/Infant CPR certificate. Pick-up CA Child Care text book and complete pre-course study packet prior to first scheduled class.
FEE: $150.00 (includes all materials)
BRN: EMS Contact Hour Fee: Add $10.00 (16 contact hours)

Chinese 220A/B: Theoretical Approaches to Chinese and Sinophone Cultures (Fall 2010/Winter 2011)

Course description:
Introduction to history, theory, and methodology in the study of modern Chinese and Sinophone cultures, with emphasis on literature and cinema. Weekly units organized around periods, places, and themes such as the modern girl, high socialism, postsocialism, colonialism, and nationalism.
Grading:
Chinese 220A has In Progress grading only; students are expected to take Chinese 220B in Winter 2011 as well. A research paper (about 20 double-spaced pages or 6,000 words, in English) will be due at the end of 220B. Upon completion of 220B, letter grade and course credit will be issued for both 220A and 220B.
