我的感受是，不管海外反独促统声势多浩大，岛内好像有隔音效能。跟您说一下多年前的趣事:那年我们在北京开年会，台湾两个颇有历史的促统组织负责人也出席。期间，一位台湾促统负责人问我，会议结束后去台湾一趟，参加他们促统会成立15周年记念。我说可以啊!因为我刚好要去台北探亲。到达台北次日，我请岳母替我叫一辆计程车。她问我去哪里?我说去北师大参加一个反独促统团体的活动。太瞪大眼睛说:什么?从未听过这种团体!我当然不管啦。车到北师大后，随便问一位学生，找到了开会的地下室。进去一看，大概有一百多人，气氛热闹激昂。仔细看和听后，很受感动，因为都是骂台独和互相鼓励。这些人多是老兵或后代，也有一些年轻学生，给我非常深刻的印象。第二天，我特别注意传媒的反应，可是，找遍报纸，再注意电视电台，完全没有反独促统的活动消息，我失望极了。 |

评论：退休之后如何活出自己的精彩？ |

|
人从60岁进入老境，到天完全黑下来，这段时间里有些风景应该被记住。记住了，就会心中有数，不会慌张。
第一种风景，是陪伴身边的人越来越少。父辈、祖辈的亲人大都已离你而去；同辈多已自顾不暇；晚辈都有自己的事情忙碌，即便妻子或丈夫也有可能提前撤走，陪伴你的，只有空荡荡的日子。你必须学会独自生活和品尝与面对孤独。
第二种风景，是社会的关注度会越来越小。不管以前事业曾怎样辉煌，人如何有名气，衰老都会让你变成普通老头和老太太，聚光灯不再照着，你得学会安静地呆在一角，去欣赏后来者的热闹和风光，而不能且需要克服忌妒和抱怨作祟。
第三种风景，是前行路上险情不断。骨折、心脑血管堵塞、脑萎缩、癌症等，都可能来拜访你，想不接待都不行。你得学会与疾病共处，带病生活，视病如友，不要再幻想身无一点疾病的安稳日子。保持良好心态，适当的运动，是你的任务，你得勉励自己不断努力。
第四种风景，是准备到床上生活，重新返回幼年状态。母亲最初把我们带来人世，是在床上；经过一生艰难曲折的奋斗，最终还要回到人生原点———床，去接受别人的照料。所不同的是，我们来时有母亲照料，我们准备走时，不一定有亲人照料。即使有亲人，有的也远不如母亲。更多的可能是面带微笑心里厌烦的无亲无故的护理人员。你得低调，甚至你得感恩。
第五种风景，是沿途的骗子很多。很多骗子都知道老人们口袋里有些积蓄，于是想尽办法要把钱骗走，打电话、发短信、来邮件，试吃、试用、试听，快富法、延寿品、开光式，总之，一心想把钱掏空。对此得提高警惕，捂紧钱包，别轻易上当，把钱花在刀刃上。
天黑之前，人生最后一段路途的光线会逐渐变暗且越来越暗，自然增加了难走的程度。因此，60岁以后更要看透人生，尽情珍惜、享受人生，不要再去包缆社会、包揽子孙的锁事。更不要自以为是，以老卖老，说起话来居高临下，既伤人，又伤自己。人老了更要懂得尊重。同时，更要理解、看淡这最后的日子，做些心理准备，道法自然，泰然处之！ |

要特別提出的是這次的第13號公投：以「台灣」名義參加2020年的奧運。這個擦邊球式的台獨變相公投竟會以 476萬的同意票被577萬的不同意票否決，差距一百多萬票，充分展現了台灣人民對台獨的新看法和評價，代表台灣人民反中的激情已經轉為務實態度，這對兩岸是好事。 |

有些事情不好太表面和泛政治化，如何着力和落实最重要。现在赢了外围战役的第一战，全面执政权之战在两年后，如何巩固和扩大胜利战果至關中重要。这次台湾地区选举韩国瑜主攻"民生"议题打中了民进党的要害，假若改打两岸牌，未必能赢。在未来两年里，最好少给政治包袱韩国瑜，先协助他把经济搞活。还有一点是要摸清韩国瑜的思路和倾向，毕竟他的背景也是反共的。马英九的前车之鉴不远。 |

台灣這次選舉的意義，最重要的是，台灣選民明確接受台灣和大陸在經濟上是不不分的。「新南向」，「走向世界。都是沒用的。在政治上桶接受「一中」，在文化及血緣關係上接受中華民族（一定會有台獨）。這可理解的.兩案如何處理這個新情勢，才是最重要的。順手推舟。 |

Dear China Cal Supporter,
July 30th , 2018- Beijing The National Health and Wellness Committee for Maternal and Child Health Services announced the start of the Neonatal Congenital Heart Disease Screening Project. The project covers 810 counties in 24 provinces, including Yunnan, and mandates that the “double index method” created by Professor Huang Guoying of Fudan Hospital Pediatric Department be instituted in all public hospitals. With the rapid development of China’s economy and social services over the past thirty years, infant mortality has declined to 6.8%. Congenital heart defects are now the most common of the congenital birth defects and have an incidence rate of about 10 out of every 1000 newborns. Because the signs and symptoms of many congenital heart defects are not immediately visible, a high percentage of infants with congenital heart defects are allowed to leave the hospital undiagnosed. Research has shown however, that timely detection of congenital heart defects are absolutely essential for child health.
“The Double Index Method” involves a two-prong approach to quickly, accurately and non-invasively detect congenital heart defects in newborn infants. A nurse or technician can quickly measure the oxygen saturation of the infant using a hand-held pulse oximeter while a doctor listens for the presence of heart murmurs using a stethoscope. Since 2015 the China California Heart Watch has been working tirelessly to implement Professor Huang Guoying’s “double index method” to screen for congenital heart defects in county level hospitals all over Yunnan Province. China Cal has conducted training and educational seminars in almost all of the county level hospitals in Yunnan Province. We are incredibly happy and proud to have laid the groundwork for the congenital heart screening program to continue in the province of Yunnan. We would like to thank our donors and the Massimo Corporation for their financial funding and generous donations of pulse-oximeters to the hospitals of Yunnan province.
Summer Externship
This year China Cal once again held its annual Student Externship Activity. The July Externship was led by physician volunteer Dr. Julio Lutterbach of the Colorado Children’s Hospital, and the August Externship was led by Dr. Judith Becker from the Children’s Hospital of Texas. All together the externship team was able to screen more than 300 patients from Lijiang and Yuxi Province. Of the 300 children screen, 60 were diagnosed with untreated congenital heart defects and referred for surgery at Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital in Kunming. Below is a brief description written by July Extern Jonathon Schutt: “My experience in China with China California Heart Watch was one I never expected. I was pulled out of my comfort zone with the immersion into the Chinese culture and language, and I was inspired by Dr. Detrano’s passion for rural Chinese people and his desire to bring them healthcare. Watching grandmas in traditional clothing bringing their grandchildren to us to be screened, playing badminton with children at a school after their appointments, learning from Dr. Lutterbach how to use the ultrasound and interact with patients have all solidified my desire to serve in the medical field. It was a privilege for me to be an extern with this organization!” We are in the process of organizing and recruiting students for our December Externship which will be held in Xishuangbanna county in southern Yunnan. 台湾这次地方选举的主题诉求就是民生(当然，韩国瑜被问时也说他承认九二共识)，我们乐见和鼓励台湾人民的选择，但在这个节骨眼上暂时不要政治上綱，带给选民不必要的干扰。在台湾选情白热化的档口，我就在新北市与亲戚朋友看"造势大会"，"两岸关系"没有摆上台，在一些场合有些事情最好不说，心领神会就好。海外有些组织爱国心 切，立刻发表充满政治用语的声明，精神可嘉，效果不见得特别好。 |
