由上海人聯誼會自編和自導、來自兩岸話劇愛好者連袂出演的七幕現代輕喜劇《丽人咖啡》，將於８月６日晚在鮑德文公園市公演。這部劇的編劇兼導演李道極表示，在這出講述社區故事的戲中，華人移民可以看到自己的影子；該劇也是笑料十足，是讓你从头笑到尾的小品连续剧。《丽人咖啡》是上海人聯誼會１０年來首次隆重推出的話劇，演職員全都是來自各大陸社團的藝術精英。大家相聚一起，出於對話劇藝術的痴迷，成立了『雨人劇社』］排演了這出話劇。大家希望通過這部戲，多層次展現大陸新移民為實現美國夢遭遇到的磨難和困惑，對新移民和華人社區有一定的啟示作用。《丽人咖啡》以３個漂亮的老闆娘為主線，以《丽人咖啡》館為主要場景，通過３個不同的家庭、３個精彩的故事，反映大陸新移民在生活遇到的一些實際問題。劇中出現的人物包括導演、律師、僑領、學生、老闆和警察。在這些人物和３位老闆娘之間錯綜複雜的脈絡關係中，故事精彩紛呈，有歡笑和有淚水。他說，這出劇已經辛辛苦苦的排練了１年多，演員將會把自己最好的表演呈現給觀眾。
上海聯誼會會長朱裕民表示，多年來，上海人聯誼會在推展中華文化和開展社區文化活動中，經常是以講上海話的文藝表演形式為主。這次大陸僑團首次推出話劇演出，而且是一部貼近移民生活的話劇，他認為很有意義。演出活動的支持單位、南加州華人社團聯合會會長張素久表示，她對話劇有一種特別的親切感，因為小時候她在重慶演過話劇；可惜的是，這部劇中沒有老年人的角色，不然，她一定會積極爭取出演的。華人移民登臺表現自己的生活，是值得鼓勵的。女主角之一方蕾說，置身在舞臺上，大家仿佛在講述著自己的經歷、在演繹著身邊朋友的故事。每個演員都追尋美國夢的心路歷程，因此飾演起劇中人物得心應手。她相信，這部劇一定會引起華人朋友的共鳴。《丽人咖啡》演出的時間是8月6日晚7點，演出地點是鮑德文公園市演藝中心，地址是Performing Arts Center of Baldwin Park，4640 North Maine Avenue Baldwin Park CA 91706；購票地點為保險總匯（517 S ATLANTIC BLVD., MONTEREY PARK, CA 91754），洽詢電話是（626）458-8777（JENNIFER）。 |

很多人热衷于拿大项目、拿大奖、抓权利，不做科研或很少做科研，他们的影响力巨大，带动整个社会向利益看、向钱看，打着科学的旗号，践踏科学，搅得大家都不搞科学、不能安心搞科学，败坏社会风气，推动社会向可怕的方向发展。
而现在管理部门的职称评定、职务晋升、工资待遇、院士评选的根本指标是项目和获奖，从某种意义上加重了这种情况，推动了这种趋势的发展。 |

Groupon created an exciting new business model, which leads them to build up a billion dollar company in less than 3 years. It broke the record in American history. Google offered them $6B to buy out and got refused. They are ready to go IPO at a value of $30B.

About the Speaker
Dr. Wei Gao has been in US for over 20 years. In 2000, he started his first venture back company, Axcel Photonics to make high performance semiconductor lasers. As founder, CTO, President, and CEO, he built up the company from inception with extreme capital efficiency, developed the technology and products second to none. More important, he managed investor''s expectation properly and built up great rapport from board members and investors. In 2005, the company was sold to private investors and he was asked to stay on as President to run the company. In 2010, he left Axcel to start the new venture, US Group Discount. Other working experiences include: Former faculty at Beijing University in Physics Department; Engineer at Lasertron (later Corning Lasertron), founding employee at Multiplex and sales/marketing role at Nortel Networks in Optoelectronics division.

New Dance Teacher
Xilin has employed a new dance teacher, Mr. Xiaofeng Huang, to join our dance program. He is going to teach several children's program for this semester. Please read the following information about him and his teaching plan.
Huang, Xiaofeng, Dance Teacher Profile:
Mr. Xiaofeng Huang graduated from the Shanghai Theater Academy, Department of Dance Teaching Profession. He earned Chinese Dance Examination Certification from Beijing Dance Academy and earned dance teacher certification from Dancers Association in China. He started his dancing career from the Shanghai Children's Ballet Dance Troupe. From 1992 to 2011, Mr. Huang worked as a dance teacher at various prestigious elementary and high schools in Shanghai, China and earned his reputation. He choreographed dances such as "Golden Peacock", "Spring", and "Golden Smile" had won first prizes in national and international competitions. |
