維州僑友社曾于1972年聯合悉尼與坎培拉駐華社團聚集日本駐澳大使館舉行“保釣運動”示威遊行。三十八年過去了，今年九月七日，日本巡邏船碰撞中國漁船，是日本政府企圖繼續霸佔中國領土的又一次行動。因此，僑友社于十月三十日下午三時假該社禮堂召開釣魚島局勢討論會。到目前為止，報名參加“保釣運動”有37個社團(包括四大媒體集團)。以個人名義參加者38位。
討論會由僑友社主席邢怡雄主持。首先他報告德高望重的雷謙光盟長與僑友社創辦人92歲高齡的梁國祥兩位已同意為此活動的名譽顧問。接著，參會者熱情洋溢地發言：梁國祥（僑友社）、楊錦華（澳華時事論壇）、項翔（華夏傳媒集團總裁）、張顯揚（澳洲印支華裔社團聯合會）、林基（柬華聯合會）、李福原（安老之家）、林青松（福建同鄉會）、林立振（墨爾本世界福清同鄉會）、趙捷豹（ATVAA電視）、廖蟬娥（維州自由黨候選人）、梁靖文（樂善坊）、郭明（SBS聽眾）、符應（迪肯大學生）等。郭明先生提出此活動不應有政治觀點局限，我們應邀請臺灣社團參加，全體鼓掌同意。符應先生也高舉其手說他會在各大學呼籲所有華裔學生支持與合作。也獲全場一致稱譽。
討論會發言內容歸納如下：
釣魚島歷史背景：自古以來，釣魚島就是中國領土，隸屬臺灣宜蘭縣管轄。1950年日本曾發表一地圖，其中並未包括釣魚島在日本領土之內。證明此島不是日本領土。
美國的惡作劇：第二次大戰後，日本投降，釣魚島本應與臺灣一起交還中國。但因當時的美國反共冷戰極端，遂於1971年擅自將釣魚島交給日本管轄，成為美日對付中國的陰謀,。現在，北京與臺北政府應聯合向美國提出抗議，要美國承擔責任將釣魚島回歸中國。
美日陰謀：日本缺資源，國土小，侵略中國成習慣，奸殺中國人民成本性。美國需要抵制中國發展強大，為保持其世界第一大霸國地位。美日陰謀抵制中國是自然的，中國應採取必要的行動收回釣魚島，必要時包括武力解決。
中國的禮儀之道：21世紀的國際社會不是禮儀、“友好”的社會，美國現在正在東南亞各國覬覦中國的地位。中國在國際上的表態是不侵略外國，不霸佔非中國土地的“友好”國家，但在釣魚島的局勢下，中國不能再以禮儀之邦單純“友好”協商。
世界華裔的立場：生活在中國以外的中華民族（當地國籍者）是中國嫁出去的女兒，我們對中國領土關心是以同血統，同根生的立場支持祖籍國的完整。抗日戰爭，歷年天災，各地華裔的行動是大家共識的，我們支援中國收回釣魚島國土。
草擬宣言：討論會決定由邢怡雄、楊錦華、項翔、與張顯揚起稿宣言，登報發表初稿內容，徵求公眾意見，並與澳洲各地聯繫，做成全澳華人宣言書，呈遞日本、美國、中國各大使館及澳洲總理和反對黨領袖，並向主流媒體傳達此文件。
中華民族之魂：我們要求中華民族每一分子都來支持中國領土的完整和尊嚴，表達中華民族是一個有理智、有思想、堅強勇敢、不甘受辱的人類。望大家團結起來、積極回應、踴躍參加，發出你的聲音！

5th Annual International Conference on Mathematics and Statistics,
13-16 June 2011, Athens, Greece
CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION
The Mathematics & Statistics Research Unit in collaboration with the Education Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) will hold its 5th Annual International Conference in Athens, Greece, 13-16 June, 2011. The conference website is www.atiner.gr/mathematics.htm. The registration fee is 250 euro, covering access to all sessions, 2 lunches, coffee breaks and conference material. In addition a Greek night of entertainment, a dinner, a half-day tour to archaeological site in the Prefecture of Attica and a special one-day cruise in the Greek islands are organized at extra cost. Special arrangements will be made with local hotels for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate.
The conference is soliciting paper (in English only) from all areas of Mathematics, Statistics, Math Education and Stat Education. Selected (peer reviewed) papers will be published in a Special Volume of the Conference Proceedings. If you think that you can contribute, please send an abstract of about 300 words, via email only (atiner@atiner.gr), before 22nd of November 2010.

We are pleased to host the Technology Conference in 2011 at the University of Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain. One of Spain''''s most important economic centers, Bilbao has several key industrial sectors including aeronautics, electronics and information technology. Bilbao has also recently undergone an urban resurgence; the most noticeable on its skyline is the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum.
This conference will address a range of critically important themes in the various fields that address the complex and subtle relationships between technology, knowledge and society. The conference is cross-disciplinary in scope, meeting points for technologists with a concern for the social and social scientists with a concern for the technological. The focus is primarily, but not exclusively, on information and communications technologies.
Scheduled activities include plenary presentations by accomplished researchers, scholars and practitioners, as well as numerous paper, workshop and colloquium presentations. Presenters may choose to submit written papers for publication in the fully refereed International Journal of Technology, Knowledge and Society. If you are unable to attend the conference in person, virtual registrations are also available which allow you to submit a paper for refereeing and possible publication in this fully refereed academic Journal.

感谢Charles及时提醒，昨晚我也是扔下所有紧急稿件以及急需应付的考试，到电影院一口气连着看了两场，
这并不是一部刻意催泪的影片，而是全体中国人心灵重建的史诗，海外华人更应该接受这一数十万生命换来的精神洗礼。
