古时候，英雄救了美女，如果英雄长得帅，美女就会一脸娇羞地说：“英雄救命之恩，小女子无以为报，唯有以身相许。”
如果不帅就会说：“英雄救命之恩，小女子无以为报，唯有来世做牛做马，报此大恩。”
但如果女的形象好，英雄就会说：“姑娘此话当真？”
如果女的形象不好，英雄就会说：“姑娘万万不可…”

美国《华尔街日报》:《世界上最勤奋的人已经老了》
世界上有群最勤奋的人，他们是中国的下乡知青、高考学子、出国留学生、下海闯荡的和进城务工的，短短二十多年创造了世界奇迹，把一个几乎最落后的中国变成经济总量世界第二。“中国还有这么勤奋的人吗？”
的确，当年中国到处是扬尘的碎石公路、“难民营”一样的火车站和汽车站、烟雾迷漫轰隆直响的破旧火车、城市里到处是成片旧房、到处是肮脏臭气熏天的农贸市场……
几十年来，这群中国人“睛天抢干，雨天巧干，白天大干，晚上加班干”，当欧州人每天工作五个小时，他们每天工作十五个小时；当印度人躺在恒河边等下辈子时，他们心中只有“只争朝夕”；当美国人充当世界警察时，他们默念“发展才是硬道理”。
迅速连通全中国的高速公路，迅速铺满全中国的高速铁路，不断扩大的飞机场，不断增加的飞行航线，现代化的飞机场和火车站，成千上万拔地而起的现代化大中小城市，看不完、玩不够的自然和文化旅游景点，数不清的现代化十足的购物城、购物中心，全世界最多的现代化工厂。
这就是现在的中国！
中国人不知不觉，世界却惊奇不已，太快了！太不可思议了！
于是世界注意到了这群太伟大的人。历史会记住他们，人类会记住他们，以这个人口最多历史悠久的国家的名义，以这个饱受苦难却毅然崛起的民族的名义，向这群人深深致敬！
很遗憾，这些四0、五0、六0后早已累弯了腰。
他们老了……他们努力过了，他们奋斗过了，他们看到今天的中国，看到了今天的世界，他们值了！他们对得起自己，对得起中国！他们是共和国的长子。
世界上曾经最勤奋的人老了，请所有人都记住他们吧！

The iStent inject Trabecular Micro-Bypass System (Model G2-M-IS) consists of two small titanium stents (tiny tubes) that are pre-loaded into a stent delivery tool (Model G2-M-IS injector). During cataract surgery (surgery to remove the natural lens that has become cloudy and caused significant vision loss), these stents are implanted into the eye of patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) to help drain fluid that has built up.
enVista® One Piece Hydrophobic Acrylic Toric Intraocular Lens - P910056/S027
The enVista® One-Piece Hydrophobic Acrylic Toric Intraocular Lens, Model MX60T is an artificial lens (Intraocular lens, IOL) implanted in the eye of adult patients for visual correction following the removal of a cataractous lens. Cataracts are often the result of aging, but can have other causes. The enVista MX60T IOL is a toric lens shaped differently from a standard spherical lens, and is intended to correct blurred vision due to an irregularly shaped cornea (astigmatism). This approval adds a new indication to specify that the enVista IOL is approved for use with the Medicel ACCUJECT 2.6-1P injector set, or other injector sets that specifically identify the enVista MX60T lens in the FDA-cleared labeling.

MathFest SCUDEM Gathering and Hosting SCUDEM III 2018 Invitation
Join SCUDEM Gathering at MathFest - Final Invitation
We invite you to join us at our SCUDEM MeetUp Gathering at MathFest, Friday, 3 August 2018, from 4:30-6:30 PM in the Silver Room, Tower Building, Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel, Denver CO USA. This is an opportunity to share the joy and news of past Student Competition Using Differential Equations Modeling (SCUDEM) and inform yourself all about the upcoming SCUDEM III 2018 event on 27 October 2018. Registration for SCUDEM III 2018 will open on 1 August 2018.
Come and share the joy in engaging students in modeling with differential equations in a supportive, friendly, and fun competition, while also offering a faculty development workshop and student MathBowl during Competition Saturday, 27 October 2018, at each SCUDEM host site.
This gathering will be a chance to meet colleagues who have hosted and/or participated in SCUDEM and also colleagues who are considering participating (even hosting) in SCUDEM III 2018. The gathering will permit participants to share their experiences and suggestions and for those interested in SCUDEM to learn about the impact and significance of SCUDEM for students and faculty.
Registration for SCUDEM III 2018 opens 1 August 2018 and there are stipends, dependent upon the number of schools visiting each local site, for local site host coordinators.
We had our successful SCUDEM II 2018 event on 21 April 2018 in which 400 students along with 111 faculty coaches from 86 schools competed in 40 sites (United States, Cameroon, and India). Complete results are available. We are looking for more host sites this year and hope that you will consider the excitement of hosting SCUDEM III 2018 at your school,

Local Site Host Coordinator Responsibilities
• Secure rooms for meeting and small team meetings (about 12 total); 6 with computer projection.
• Determine parking area and permits and contact food service that extra guests will buy their lunch.
• Secure visitor Wi-Fi access for all visitors.
• Promote SCUDEM II 2018 at local site through curated email lists and outreach materials provided by SIMIODE and self-generated contacts.
• Conduct opening and closing ceremony.
• Keep to provided schedule during Competition Saturday – or make local adjustments as appropriate.
• Lead two session Faculty Development workshop sessions with excellent, carefully structured and scripted materials supplied by SIMIODE. First session engages faculty and students in Modeling Scenario activity.
• Conduct MathBowl – materials and script completely supplied by SIMIODE.
• Print out registration materials/forms (~200 sheets) for coach and team – provided by SIMIODE.
• Record scores, competition results, and award information and send to SIMIODE.
• Collect and upload student team final Executive Summaries and Presentations.
• Fill out and send to Coaches all team and individual award certificates – SIMIODE provides forms.
• Accept a check from SIMIODE for half of the registration fees at local site.
