2017 Summer Conferences Grants
2017 CTA Ethnic Minority Issues Conference
Join us for the Joint Ethnic Caucus Issues Conference at the Manhattan Beach Marriott on May 5th-7th sponsored by the California Teachers Association. With all the issues and challenges facing us in our society and education today, this is the conference to learn more about social justice, activism and advocacy in our communities. This conference, which is open to all CTA members, is devoted to developing and enhancing your understanding and appreciation of the issues of diversity and equity. Attendees are able to choose from a wide variety of workshops that provide practical ideas that can be incorporated in the classroom and school setting. The workshops will also provide participants with more knowledge of social justice issues facing ethnic minority communities and how to advocate for change in your community.
If you are interested in what has been happening with educators and immigrant communities, then you will want to join us. Learn more about Proposition 58 - the recently passed law regarding bilingual education, the rights that communities now have on language instruction, the impact of legislation on communities of color and much more. Be part of the dialogue in setting an agenda to move towards action. Be Proud, Be United, Be Engaged for Public Education!
