The JSOM wants to share that the Annual Medical Support Operations Summit will be taking place this April in the UK. In preparation for this gathering of military, industry, and NGO's, the event director wants to share with you the resources gathered in one place, These articles and reports have proven very popular in recent days so they wanted to be sure you had access to them. The challenges involved with joint civilian and military support operations when dealing with disaster relief operations and humanitarian crises, including logistics support and aid during civil wars and infectious disease outbreaks, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and militaries inevitably face a number of challenges. Defence IQ analysed the key challenges facing NGOs, international militaries, and government aid agencies dealing with the broadened scope of overseas medical support operations.
Scenario: What if another earthquake hit Kathmandu?
In April 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal, killing over 8,000 people and injuring more than 21,000. It caused extensive damage and disruption but international aid agencies and militaries were able to access those hit worst and offer humanitarian aid, logistic support, and disaster relief. What if there was another earthquake, but this time it was even bigger with further reaching damage? Airports are out of commission, roads blocked, bridges destroyed, etc. View this scenario, devised with the input and advice from the Department for International Development (DFID), comprising of 5 stages.

你的文章说的很对，巨大的人口。这也是为什么这么多的所谓“互联网+”的企业还在折腾的原因。对，销售是大，盈利呢？还有一个中国的特点，作者没写出来，中国的互联网因为政府的封锁，已经犹如一个孤岛，将众多国际公司阻挡在外。但同样的，这些中国公司也不可能在国际市场上成功。
举个作者写的例子，Nexus和小米。他们的策略是一样的，低价硬件，开放式软体。如果小米是在美国会成功吗？不可能，只会更差，因为安卓系统还不是他的。所以不要有事没事就意淫一下，宣传什么美国公司学中国公司。每个公司有自己的市场和环境。谷歌为什么在移动广告上收入少，不是不会做，也不是做不好，是美国市场小，美国没有那么多人没事就盯着手机。 |

Join us to appreciate Chinese classical poem of Tang Dynasty in National Poetry Month. During the Tang Dynasty period (618-907), China was open to the outside world and embraced the new and exotic minds, which endowed poets with broad horizons, positive and unrestrained emotion, and innovative inspiration. Meng Haoran (孟浩然) was a major poet in Tang Dynasty who had keen eye for detailed features of the natural landscape, particularly mountains and rivers, and the personal emotions. The class will read a poem from Meng with the teacher, sensing and enjoying the musical rhyme and rhythm of the poem and appreciating the beauty of the language. They will also have a chance to explore the art of Chinese landscape painting and create their own color landscape to depict the natural elements as they imagined reading the poem.

NDIA and USAMRMC Co-Host Medical Research, Development and Acquisition in Support of the Warfighter Conference - Military Medicine in a Complex Environment

This event is a unique opportunity for science and industry representatives to learn more about how the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) provides world-class medical knowledge, countermeasures and technologies to protect and sustain our servicemen and women, its gap areas, and to better understand the process within which USAMRMC operates. USAMRMC protects and sustains the health and fighting ability of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines through its programs in medical research, medical materiel development, medical logistics and facility planning, medical information systems, and development of new technologies to improve military health care on the battlefield. The Command executes the science and technology program to investigate medical solutions for the battlefield with a focus on various areas of biomedical research, including military infectious diseases, combat casualty care, military operational medicine, medical chemical and biological defense, and clinical and rehabilitative medicine.
The conference will begin with an overview of USAMRMC and its laboratories, its science and technology (S&T) and advanced development perspectives, followed by a panel discussion providing a more in-depth view of each of the Command's program areas and a question and answer session. A large segment of the conference will be devoted to breakout sessions for the key program areas, including opportunities for questions and answers. There will also be presentations on such topics as logistical considerations and how to do business with USAMRMC. USAMRMC's focus is on a battlefield environment, as opposed to care in fixed-station medical or rehabilitative centers. We hope to see you there.
