SIMIODE EXPO 2021 Invitation
We invite you to SIMIODE EXPO 2021, 12-13 February 2021, SIMIODE’s first international virtual conference in our Community of Practice. The conference is for all - non-students and students - who are interested in teaching and learning differential equations through modeling. See https://www.simiode.org/simiodexpo2021 for details and registration.
We are still considering submissions for contributed talks (title and abstract) at our Registration Form as well as Panel participation and Student Poster Presentations.
The conference will run from 3:30 PM (Eastern US Time) through 9:00 PM on Friday, 12 February 2021, and from 10:00 AM through 7:00 PM on Saturday, 13 February 2021, with time for friendly conversations and meet-ups. All sessions will be recorded and available for Registered Attendees after the conference. So, you will not miss a thing in our many parallel sessions.

SIMIODE is proud to announce a Preview Version of its forthcoming online text, Differential Equations: Modeling to Describe The World.
Authored by the distinguished teacher and author, Kurt Bryan, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute IN USA, this text takes a modeling first and throughout approach to motivate the study and learning of differential equations in the spirit of SIMIODE, while linking to many SIMIODE Modeling Scenarios and other activities.
The text will be available as Preview Version in January 2021 and will be freely offered immediately to those who register for SIMIODE EXPO 2021, 12-13 February 2021, which includes a chance to meet the author in a Panel Session during the conference.
Differential Equations: Modeling to Describe The World puts applications and modeling front and center in an introduction to ordinary differential equations. In taking this approach we do not skimp on or skip over the mathematics but use rich applications to motivate almost every subject and technique. The mathematics presented is interwoven with modeling to drive both the mathematics and understanding of the application under study and to make the case that differential equations provide a powerful, indispensable toolbox for describing the world.
We also present some unconventional, but important topics not usually offered in introductory texts: dimensional analysis, parameter estimation, a brief introduction to control theory via Laplace transforms, stiff systems of differential equations, and a more thorough treatment of electrical circuits.

3、岗位职责：负责组织力量、协调资源、引进团队、对外合作，开展新能源技术研发，包括可再生能源(先进的太阳能、风电、生物质能，海洋能等)、储能电池、燃料电池、氢能技术、生物液体燃料等。
4、任职条件：
（1）拥有相关专业博士学位，副高及以上技术职称；
（2）从事并负责过相关新能源技术研发工作5年及以上，拥有相关专利技术或研究成果；
（3）在国内外知名科研院所担任过研发团队负责人；或知名科技型企业担任过研发部门负责人；或知名大学副教授及以上；或其它相当的工作岗位；
（4）年龄一般不超过45周岁(条件特别优秀的可适当放宽)；
（5）符合“海外高层次人才引进计划”条件的人才优先考虑。

岗位3：浙能技术研究院工业信息化研究所所长

3、岗位职责：负责组织力量、协调资源、引进团队、对外合作，开展工业信息化技术、能源领域“两化融合”技术的研发，包括互联网+智慧能源、工业大数据分析、设备远程状态诊断及评估、人工智能技术及应用、工业机器人及应用、工业控制系统网络信息安全技术等。

（1）拥有相关专业博士学位，副高及以上技术职称；

另外，数学研究似乎与钱多少没有关系吧？在小地方的教授更能静心学术，心无旁骛。 |

Once again, it is with great pleasure and pride that I inform you of the availability of AAM Volume 15, Issue 2 (December 2020) of Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM) at the end of its 15th year of existence. This volume, with attached Table of Contents contains 42 papers and 763 pages. With this issue, we end the year with a total of 80 articles and a total of 1435 pages of quality papers, peer-reviewed and in all mathematical sciences, statistics, operations research, physics and engineering. This Issue, as others can be viewed at http://www.pvamu.edu/aam. Special Issue No. 7 was published in March 2020. The next regular issue will appear in the AAM’s 16th year in June of 2021.
To strengthening the credibility of AAM and to prevent plagiarism, AAM is using the Turnitin software as part of its review process. Manuscripts with rates higher than 25% of duplications are being rejected. Thus, with this task and pre-review of manuscripts, a high percentage of arriving manuscripts are rejected before going to full review. This will enhance the processing times of the AAM staff and reviewers.
