评论：香港之乱，砸了谁的饭碗？ |

天真的人是非常有夢想的.就讓他们去找尋他们的理想吧。
现实一点，L.A. 的 Chinatown，就讓那些还喜爱的人们去继續吧。這也包括我.和公所仝人。但是以後，就讓那些有理想的人们去继續發楊光大，or whatever 好了。後代自有後代福。
無論在什么时代，在什么地方，是金子就都会發亮的。
是金子也就知道还有铜铁锡等都会發光的。
是金子也就知道还有各种宝玉鑽石是更貴重。
更有烈火，是金子也就要馴服就好。
因為沒有靈魂和良知，活得下去或被改造就容易接受得多了。
历史是由那些有靈魂和良知的所創造和改造的。
中國五千年历史也好，三千年历史也好，一本資治通覽，二十四史，二十八史 ，野史，外史 ，春秋戰國历时數百年，諸子百家，近代史，林林總總 ，学者领悟到，更有著書立說，各舒己见。
但还得馴服於政客，軍權，领導之。
欧洲各國历史也是教訓。三千多年來各地各國君主兴亡，都有可歌可泣的故事。.
最近第二次世界大战，英國避免了被滅亡。
是幸運，是有君主立憲?
美國立國到现在才二百四十多年(1776-2020), 最近数十年來，还被評為世界第一富强之國。是有民主三權分立制度，是人民有憲法來保證每人的平等自由和公平待遇？
中華人民共和國立國刚过七十年(1949-2020), 现在被評為世界第二強國。
毛澤東執政直至过後，其後的有几位總書記，直到現在.
能成為世界第二强國，原因是奉行中国特有色的社会共產主義?
现在美國是什么环境？
中共又如何?
為什么会如此這般?
对北大敎授的分析的感想:
1. 要对推动力的認同，不能因為有了成果就沾沾喜欢乐.
雖然是有途殊而同歸一个站，但再接再厲而循环不息的可能性可能嗎?
2. 敎授認為像过去三十年到现在的时势环境可能不再 。
3. 敎授認为放權於民是一种解决的辦法.
4. 另一种观察: 对其他地方推行強制 ，可能会有短期成功。
5. 那么就算再保持成功三十年七十年。但因为不是循环的生生不息的自.动力，而是靠向外伸展的单向程式，始终都会像以前的封建帝國皇朝一樣，不是有生内变之乱，就是有被外侵，而改朝换代的了。
中英基本法是大概在1984 年中共内与英國簽定，双方認同: 在1997 年，香港回歸中國. 簽訂一国两制，港人治港，中英承認基本法 ，保證有普选，50 年不变，直至到2047 年 .
中美联合声明是在 1992 年簽定的. 大概是给西方各民主國一个保證，以继續保持香港的國際地位. 否则，就可能在1997 年回歸前，就更加有人才流失和大撤资了. 可能隨後，欧盟等国也有因此而跟進. 以便互惠貿易吧 。
现在回想，難怪那时，我有因受到工作委託 ，在1995-1996 两年間，曾一共來回香港也有七或八次吧 。那時有一些工作生意來往的朋友，在茶餘飯後也有聊到香港以後的可能形势。
從1997-2020 有23 年了 。香港还未有实行港人自选特首. 袛有北京承認的候选人。但香港人口继續增加. 经济继续成長.國際地位為中西各地各國的港口.
但现在因这23 年來，再加上最近數年來中港加强压制不同理念者，一些政治团体未有得到中共和港府实行 1997 年 基本法制的承諾，引起动乱。更有一些利益集团，乘机暴乱，扩大事件，引至現在有加上和实行中港國安法. 但这國安法有与1997 年基本法有予盾和衝突.
因此，英國，美國 ，欧盟等國家，指中共和港府毁约，没有保持承諾簽定的 1997 一國两制 50 年不变的條約。故宣佈取消对香港一切特殊地位优惠條件(制裁)，並宣布撤資退出香港。
香港在今年七月一日實施國安法。 這是俗稱為二次回歸 解決多年黑色暴力問題。作者於去年十一月在香港親见到在理工大學暴力。尖沙咀彌敦道交通被斬。晚上火光滿天 及馬路上巨型竹枝滿佈 旺區瞬間變成恐怖地帶 誰令致之？ |

Harold F. Giedt Lecture Series
The Art of Seeing: Another Chinese Realist Theatre in the 1920s
Presented by Dr. Man HE
Assistant Professor of Chinese at Williams College
Time: 2-3.30 PM, Oct. 3rd, Thursday

Introduction: The role of ideology in modern Chinese theatre has been well studied; but what about the role of sight? How did Chinese dramatists translate the realm of senses, newly shaped by their experiences of seeing the world around them, into works of theatre in the early twentieth century? How did modern Chinese theatre (or huaju, spoken drama) mediate the science, art, and act of “seeing” to overwhelm and formulate both spectators and dramatists? This talk analyzes Yu Shangyuan’s (1897-1970) early drama works as well as his visions and theories of realist theatre. Departing from views that hold that huaju either imitated anxiously the Western Other or remained blind to its ideological underpinnings, I argue thatYu grounded his realist theatre activities on sight, formulating an innate connection between the Neo-Confucian tradition of gewu (investigating things) and Ibsenesque “ocular realism.” In so doing, this talk aspires to answer a key yet much neglected question regarding the aesthetics of huaju: what occurred when eyes- of characters, dramatists, and spectators - became the principle subject of modern Chinese theatre.
A short bio: Dr. He has published journal articles and book chapters, including “Crossing the River and Ding County Experimental Theatre ” in A New Literary History of Modern China that was published by Harvard University Press in 2017 and “When S/he is not Nora” in Modern Chinese Literature and Culture in 2015. Recently, Prof. HE received The Alliance to Advance Liberal Arts Colleges (AALAC) Workshop Award for co-organizing “A Pedagogy Workshop on Teaching East Asian Performing Arts at Liberal Arts Colleges” in Swarthmore College. Prof. He also applies her expertise on film studies, especially on documentary films, to the language classroom and received the Cheng &Tsui SIG Award 2019. Currently, Prof. HE is working on her manuscript, Backstaging Modern Chinese Theatre: Cosmopolitan Intellectuals, Grassroots Amateurs, and Cultural Institutions, 1910s-1950s.

Please join us for a screening of the 2015 documentary A Purpose Built School 毛坦厂日与夜 (Chinese with English subtitles; runs 95 minutes) by filmmaker Jia Ding 賈丁, followed by a discussion with the director and scholars from USC and Beijing Normal University. Maotanchang High School, a.k.a. "The Gaokao Factory," is located in a small town in China''s Anhui Province. It''s a "cram school" with military-style discipline, where high school students train round the clock for the national college entrance exam. Maotanchang employs only male teachers, whose jobs and bonuses are dependent on their students'' test scores. They monitor students'' study time with CCTV and raid dormitories at random. This film offers a rare glimpse inside the walls of one of the world''s most intense educational institutions. This program is co-sponsored by the USC East Asian Library and Beijing Normal University.
