深圳大学百万年薪招聘教授
深圳大学创办于1983年，坐落于南山半岛，依山傍海，与香港隔海相望。现有后海、西丽两个校区，总面积达2.9平方公里，被誉为中国"最美丽的大学"之一。
深圳大学学科门类齐全，涵盖了哲、经、法、教育、文、史、理、工、医、管理、艺术等11个学科门类75个本科专业，其中有15个省级重点学科。学校现拥有3个一级学科博士点，34个一级学科硕士点和142个二级学科硕士点。

1 . 特聘教授招聘
招聘对象：国家"千人计划"和"青年千人计划"入选者、国家"杰青"、教育部"长江学者"、国家重大重点科研项目承担者、海外知名大学教授或副教授以及具有相当学术影响的海内外知名学者。薪酬待遇：特聘教授岗位实行年薪制，薪酬水平为40-120万元/年起，学校将在科研启动费、实验室建设经费和组建科研团队等方面提供支持。其中理、工、医学科，符合深圳市"孔雀计划"和"高层次专业人才"条件的，可以享受深圳市政府资助的100-500万的科研启动经费。
2 . 教授、副教授、讲师招聘
深圳大学教授、副教授和讲师岗位面向全球公开招聘,重点引进取得海外知名大学博士学位或具有海外知名大学博士后研究经历的人员，其中特别优秀的可直接聘为教授或副教授。
薪酬水平：教授41万元/年起，副教授31万元/年起，讲师24万元/年起。
深圳大学教授、副教授和讲师可申请"荔园学者"资助计划、深圳市"孔雀计划"和高层次专业人才认定，符合条件的可享受相应标准的生活津贴、奖励补贴、购房补贴以及科研启动费。
3. "荔园学者"资助计划
深圳大学面向校内教师启动"荔园学者"资助计划。该计划分为三个层次，即"荔园领军学者"资助计划、"荔园优秀学者"资助计划和"荔园优青"培养计划。
1）资助培养对象：荔园领军学者主要为我校全职在岗的高水平学术领军人才；荔园优秀学者主要为已在全职教师岗位工作满3年，且年龄在45岁以下的学术骨干；荔园优青主要为取得博士学位后在大学或研究机构从事学术研究工作一年以上，且年龄在35岁以下的青年学术骨干。
2）资助标准：荔园领军学者实行五年资助期，期间发放生活津贴，第一层次为50万元/年，第二层次为15万元/年；荔园优秀学者实行三年资助期，期间发放生活津贴，标准为10万元/年；荔园优青培养期最长为9年，期间发放生活津贴，标准为10万元/年。

The annual conference of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology in Utah (CAST-UT) will be held on January 24, 2015 at Fort Douglas Ballroom of the University Guest House (110 South Fort Douglas Blvd, Building 801, Salt Lake City, Utah). The theme of the annual conference is on Innovation and Development (创新与发展). The keynote speaker and guest of honor will be the Nobel Prize laureate, Professor Dr. Mario Capecchi from University of Utah. The symposium is planned as several parallel sessions in the afternoon. One is on big data and internet security, and another will be the students'''' research presentation. In addition, CAST-UT will continue to award outstanding local high school students, and student research awards. CAST-UT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting communication and mutual understanding between US and China. It also provides various services to the local Chinese communities in the U.S. The annual conference is one of the most important events of CASTUT and has been pulling in more and more organizations, business associates and professionals in all areas. Dear Colleagues:
Annually the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges calls for nominations for one of the two faculty seats on the Board of Governors. We seek your assistance in identifying outstanding faculty members who are knowledgeable about the issues facing faculty and others in the community colleges. While we are particularly interested in candidates who represent and who have shown commitment to issues of diversity, as you will see on the attached sheet, the Academic Senate has broadened the criteria to encourage leaders with a variety of experiences to consider applying for this position. Thus, it is important that all members of your faculty are aware of this opportunity to serve. The Governor appoints members of the Community College Board of Governors. As you may be aware, two faculty members serve on the Board of Governors, serving staggered two-year terms. The Governor makes these faculty appointments from a list of recommendations put forward by the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges.
In addition, we would expect candidates to be articulate, capable of presenting a reasoned argument on issues of educational policy, and to have knowledge of statewide educational issues. Any college or district senate or an Executive Committee member of the Academic Senate for California Community College may nominate faculty. In each case, the nominee is strongly encouraged to include a letter of endorsement from the faculty member's local academic senate. If a faculty member has been previously nominated and would like to be reconsidered, a letter of intent should be sent to the Senate Office with a current resume. Candidates for nomination should submit a letter of introduction, a current resume outlining relevant professional activities, and the letter of local senate endorsement. All original materials must be received in the Academic Senate Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015. NO FAXES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Nominees will be selected and interviewed by the Executive Committee. All candidates will be notified of the outcome of the nomination process. Thank you for your assistance in identifying worthy and qualified candidates.

Q & A with Dr. Robert Chi (紀一新教授)
Assistant Professor, Asian Languages and Cultures, UCLA
Robert Chi studied at Yale University (BA) and Harvard University (MA, PhD), and he has taught at Tunghai University (Taiwan), Columbia University, and Stony Brook University. His teaching and research focus on Chinese cinema in all senses of that term. He has taught, researched, and published on a range of topics across China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan including public memory, visual culture, film exhibition, film music, documentary, and martial arts films.
