外交部出事了 国务委员杨洁篪引咎请辞
中共国务委员、前外交部长杨洁篪向中共中央作了渎职检查，承认任期内放任腐败，违规事件不断发生，部门党纪、政纪涣散、作风堕落等，提出引咎辞职。中共总理李克强在出席外交部党委扩大生活会上，在诸多方面对中共外交部提出训斥。李克强说：“一个摆在面前的课题要解决，外交系统的条件、设施、保障在国际上是属前列的，但政治素质、专业素质、作风修养方面问题不少……”
1月23日，一则涉及中共外交部数百名退休官员、金额高达的2.6亿元的非法集资案被大陆媒体曝光，成为引人注目的事件。中共外交部数百名离退休干部，最近十年以来，陆续卷入一起非法集资案中。由中共外交部老干部组成的顾问团，在回扣和高额利息的诱惑下，协助绿源公司从中共外交部人员中吸纳了1.5亿元巨资，顾问团当中不乏为司级以上的前中共外交部官员。2014年1月9日，中共人力资源和社会保障部发布的中共国务院任免工作人员消息显示，王超被免去商务部副部长，出任外交部副部长；原任外交部部长助理的张明被擢升为副外长；宋涛被免去副外长职务。王超履新外交部后，主管欧洲地区事务、翻译及档案工作。翟隽则赴法接替孔泉出任中共驻法大使，后者回国接任中共中央外办副主任，并将被免去副外长职务。上述王超、张明、宋涛、翟隽4人职务调整后，中共外交部官方网站“主要官员”栏目显示，外交部现“1正7副3助理”格局，目前为：王毅任外长，张业遂任部党委书记兼副部长，另有李保东、王超等6位副外长和张昆生、郑泽光、钱洪山3位部党委委员、部长助理。外交部最近进行的人事调整，商务部原副部长王超调任外交部，外交系统面临一系列的大调整，那些“不转换思想”的外交官将要走人。外交部原先特有的惯例是，所有最高级的官员如外长和副外长基本都来源于外交系统，也就是从外交部内部提拔上来的。这次王超成为副外长，也被认为是习近平朝外交部“掺沙子”，不再允许外交部高级官员“近亲繁殖” |

松柏梅竹滑雪会喜迎新年
北京大学新英格兰校友会（松）, 波士顿南开校友会（柏）, 波士顿清华校友会（梅）及交通大学新英格兰地区校友会（竹）于2014年1月20日马丁路德金纪念日如期联合组织了第2届松柏梅竹滑雪会，以喜迎新年加强友谊，其他院校校友及朋友也积极参加。滑雪会选择了大家熟悉而有团队优惠的 新罕布什尔州的Pats Peak 雪场，初学者及滑雪老手都能满意。
本届松柏梅竹滑雪会总共133位校友及朋友参加了该滑雪盛会，再加上免票的小孩的话，应该有近140人。大家滑雪水平各异，不少校友参加了滑雪课程（有初级班和高级班），滑雪常客给新手传授技巧也不亦乐乎。滑雪花样也很多，有的用雪橇(skiing)，有的用雪板(snowboarding)，还有的跟小孩一起溜气艇圈(tubing)。当天天气变化多姿，下午开始阳光灿烂。雪场极顶远眺，白山风景，苍松翠柏，白雪皑皑，尽收眼底。到了4点钟左右，又开始白雪飘飘。校友们恋恋不舍，直到晚上8点才纷纷返程回家。在此非常感谢松柏梅竹滑雪会Logo，我们明年再会。祝大家新年快乐！

SIMIODE - Systemic Initiative for Modeling Investigations and Opportunities with Differential Equations. SIMIODE is about teaching differential equations using modeling and technology upfront and throughout the learning process.
