「嶺南畫派是要具有時代感的文藝思潮，還要有新的題材，美的構圖，有神韻的筆墨和詩的意境，而達到真善美的效果，能使雅俗共賞，才是最好作品。」 －趙少昂
張彥遠（815-907）於《歷史名畫記 卷十》，提及唐代畫家張璪（約735-785）於《繪境》篇章中，論及藝術創作提出「外師造化、中得心源」之命題。此八字訣淵遠流傳，無疑是中國美學最精確的演繹。中國繪畫的審美價值，不單被理解為藝術創作的過程；藝術至高之境界，是在靈魂的根性中悟道，於妙悟中回歸真性。嶺南畫派的藝術風格為時代變革下的產物，具有兼容中西的面貌。承繼留白、骨法、敷色、渲染等中國繪畫之古法，融合西方的客觀實證精神，終將中國繪畫帶向通往入世的生活體現，歷經畫家個人的心靈化合提煉而出。
嶺南文化俗稱廣東文化，以農業和海洋文化為源頭，在其發展過程中不斷吸納和融匯中原文化和海外文化，於飲食、建築、戲曲、美術發展上，漸形成自身獨有的特點。晚清時期，由於廣州開放為對外通商口岸，遂燃起了嶺南地域藝術革命的契機。近代嶺南繪畫的革新，首推廣東番禺居巢（1811-1865）、居廉（1828-1904）昆仲，畫風延續清初惲南田（1633-1690）的沒骨花卉，以「撞水」、「撞粉」手法表現物象。後以高劍父（1879-1951）、高奇峰（1889-1933）、陳樹人（1884-1948）承續，自日本學成之後，反對國畫停滯於仿古的階段，而提倡師法自然、重視寫生，體現發揚國畫新理想。當時為免於「嶺南」指涉狹窄的地域範圍，以「折衷派」自居，後享「嶺南三傑」之美譽，也因此延伸出「嶺南畫派」的稱號。因此追溯「嶺南畫派」這個名稱，是在歷史發展過程中由群眾創造出來，也就約定俗成地被保留下來。
若論及近代中國畫壇浩大的創新力量，提倡國畫重整，折衷古今中外，首推「二高一陳」的廣東嶺南三大家。第二代嶺南畫家人數眾多，二十世紀30年代起開始活躍於畫壇，以關山月、黎雄才、趙少昂、楊善深為代表，在題材與審美意識上提出「筆墨當隨時代」，皆開創出個人風格，被譽為當代嶺南畫派的四大家。嶺南畫派的新國畫思維，亦未侷限於廣州地域，舉凡港、澳、台等地皆有眾多後繼者，深刻影響當代藝壇，歷久不衰。若溯及幾位台灣重要的書畫大家，嶺南在台灣的脈源可循，如黃君璧（1898-1991）生於廣東南海祿舟、歐豪年（1935-）生於廣東茂銘傳舖，皆汲取嶺南畫派的養分及師承，融合大環境所變而開枝散葉，成就嶺南在台灣之新貌。 |

誰寫的？太有才華了:
有一天「李登灰」帶著他的「無脖熊」出去玩，他們搭『朱立輪』船從「臨洋港」出發，到達「好伯村」，在那邊吃中飯，點了一條「送楚魚」和一客「黃大粥」，覺得不夠鹹，又加了一些「蟑酵鹽」，還不忘來一杯香醇的「馬櫻酒」，他們吃完要離開時不小心跌了一跤，就扶著旁邊的「糊字牆」慢慢站起來，可是啊！「連站」都站不起來了！
於是乾脆坐在『謝長亭』休息一會，無意間發現亭子旁邊有一朵『陳菊』，正想伸手把它摘回家插在『王金瓶』裡觀賞，然來了一位講得滿口『菜英文』的人，他說還不如到附近的『孫中山』腳下的『陳履庵』的池塘裡採一朵『呂秀蓮』，要到那裡必『將經過』一道城門，城門上掛了一個寫著金錢糞土四個大字的『陳水匾』。喝了”瀉腸停“才止住惡臭引致的上吐下瀉。

A Counterhistory of Chinese Money

We usually think of money in terms of its economic functions, for example as a medium of exchange or a unit of account. This talk offers an alternative history of money during the opening of the Han dynasty Silk Road, when China first expanded its monetized markets. It looks at a diverse set of social and symbolic practices (e.g., burying money for the afterlife, stories about debt) through which people resisted or embraced the logic of the new market. It asks: how did people re-imagine non-quantitative uses and meanings for money? And what place can or should these practices have in the economic history of China and the world?
Tamara Chin works on Chinese antiquity and the modern reception of antiquity. She has published on aspects of early Chinese literary culture and the Silk Road, and her book, Savage Exchange: Han Imperialism, Chinese Literary Style, and the Economic Imagination, will be published in the Spring/Summer 2014 with Harvard University Press. Chin taught in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Chicago and will join Yale-NUS in 2014 as an Associate Professor of Literature in 2014.
