感人的故事，感谢分享。那个ABC 主持人应该读读这两个事件以弥补自己的无知和轻薄.操控话题的敏感度，秉承对社会负责的态度，是一个主持人起码的素养，否则他根本就不够资格成为一名舆论人，更何况受他引导的是一群6，7岁的孩子。在一群孩子中间传播情绪暴力，是犯罪。因为很多行为暴力都是在情绪暴力积累到一定程度后自然引发的，就JZ上边提到的两个事件。虽然那都是很早以前的事儿了，但历史常常会在某个无法预测的节点上重复，集腋可以成裘，防微可以杜渐。这次抗议华人保护的不只是族裔的利益，而是对社会负责，对历史负责。
有些主持人就好的多，比如Anderson Cooper ，明显不是一个级别的人，一个是匠，一个是家，一个是角儿，一个是范儿，不一样的境界。那个主持人道歉却不认错，因为他都不知道他错在哪里，因为他大概从来不曾想过除了逗乐领薪，他对社会还负有责任.

聚腋成裘，积沙成塔。我们在这里其实有不少沙粒了，只是希望能成塔，而不是一盘散沙。
大家都贡献一份力吧。能多参与就多参与，增加凝聚力。至少让他们针对我们说话做事前掂量掂量，而不是肆无忌惮。
还是那句话，他们敢对黑人这样吗？敢对犹太人这样吗？

你看了电影 Gravity了吗？讲了一个永不放弃希望的宇航员成功解救自己的故事。其实不用看那个故事，你，我一个中国人能有胆量有学识敢来美国已经证明你有足够的乐观和胆略。
美国在族裔平等上可能是目前世界上做得最好的制度了。在美国受歧视的不光是华人，其实华人相对来说还是地位较高的，只是近年来媒体大肆宣扬中国威胁论，加上经济不景气，白人把怨气撒在中国人身上。这次指所以这么多出来游行，我认为很多人都有亲身感觉，近些年白人憎恨华人有增无减！
黑人西语裔人也有限，但是他们就是敢发声！说明发声就是有用！所以不必等中国人都来美国，只要我们敢发声，
就会起作用！

华裔女议员赵美心近日发表公开信, 其中提到３０年前的陈果仁事件, Vincent Chin。她把此次事件和80年代发生在美国的陈果仁事件联系起来。 说明, 随口散布和挑动公众的仇外情节及对某些族裔的偏见和敌视, 会带来多么恶劣的后果。大家肯定或多或少知道这个事件。 今年是３０周年。简单回顾一下：
80年代, 日本汽车制造业繁荣, 极大冲击了美国市场。汽车城底特律, 大量工厂倒闭, 工人失业。白人黑人的, 把怨气都结在日本人和在美日裔身上。
陈27岁, 婚前不到一个月, 和朋友在酒吧玩儿, 被借酒撒疯的失业白人父子俩, 当作日本人辱骂追打, 活活打死。事后, 凶手先按过失杀人, 判罚3700美元, 实际一分没缴。判25年，缓刑3年, 实际一天牢没坐。三年后, 又推翻原判, 改无罪, 理由是冲突中的意外。陪审团是10白人2黑人组成。
开庭期间，凶手父子的邻居，朋友，所在工会等等，都帮助证明凶手是好人，好朋友，好工人，好邻居。 期间, 华裔日裔, 都做过艰苦努力, 希望伸张正义, 无果。
陈是咱们典型中国同胞, 老实本分, 勤劳刻苦, 温良恭简, 从不惹事。被无端追打, 无还手之力, 不过是哀求和申辩, 自己不是日本人。死前最后的话是, it''''s not fair。他母亲, 一辈子想为儿子申冤, 绝望后, 离开美国回广东, 最后在广东去世。她离开美国前, 对着采访的镜头, 流泪说, 我们肤色不同, 但心是一样的心, 血是一样的血。
我爱美国， 我们一家人，努力工作，交税。我以为我是美国人, 或者华裔美国人, 但我们只被认作中国人, 非美国人。今年是30周年了。赵美心发言, 跨越30年, 联系到当时的陈案。现在美国大环境和３０年前是有很大不同了，但谁也难保陈遭遇的事件不会再次发生。

I appreciate your response, as I emphasized, I fully aware of the fact everyone are entitled to whatever they want to say in this country, my point is that the title and the way the article appeared in your journal gave an impression of the inclination of the editor who happen to be professors that are supposed to know the facts and science better than laymen.

The recent issue of your online journal published the misinformation (http://scholarsupdate.hi2net.com/news.asp?NewsID=12934) about GM safety issue. Although I appreciate you included a rebuttal from Shimin in the end, the title of this report is at least, I am sorry to say, very inappropriate. I fully appreciate it that everyone has the freedom to say whatever they want, but as a respected website of an association of US college professors (or at least I regard your website as main steam), you may want to be more cautious on put the language of the title of this article -- to avoid appearing ignorant and absurd. In contrast to other controversial issues such as abortion, gun control, drug control etc, there is a clear consensus in the scientific community in the GM issue.
In case if you want to dig deeper into this, I attached a files that discussed this controversial issue: the NAS report in 2004, (http://www.nap.edu/catalog/10977.html) about two controversial issues: GM food and stem cell. The take home massage from both is the same -- the genetically modified foods are as unsafe as the conventional food!
