All of our 12,000 Net members from overseas have no problem to open the http://scholarsupdate.com and UPDATE Newsletter. But the 3200 Net members in China do have hard time to open them since “18 Da”. The only reason could be that the Chinese online police and firewall block it for some reasons.
We have no idea why this happens since there had never been any problem since 1992 (to 2012). I guess you may have to wait and see. Hopefully the related Chinese state departments will lift bar instead of cut us off forever.
In our knowledge, most of our Net professors and professionals in China (over half of them are actually take the leadership roles in all kind of institutes and local government departments) used the software of FANQIANG to read our information as usual since they know we are non-political and non-profit group since the first day of our establishment.
But anyway, we do not encourage everyone in China to use the Fanqiang to read our UPDATE or to visit our website since it is against their law. We just sincerely hope that the China government and new leadership will be smart enough to let our Chinese scholars and professional members have the access to read healthy information from us overseas, to understand that whatever we have been doing is significant for the country for the long run.
