随着最近几年福建的发展速度上来了，身在美国，我能切身地体会到，我身边的福建老乡，比以前更加关注家乡的发展了，自然也对近期召开的省十二届人大一次会议、省政协十一届一次会议尤其关注。通过苏树林省长在省十二届人大一次会议上作的政府工作报告，我最大的感受是，福建正处在跨越发展的大好时机！福建大有希望！
过去的五年，福建经济平稳较快发展、发展方式加快转变、改革开放持续深化、人民生活水平不断提高，特别是经济发展速度超过了全国平均水平，经济总量从突破万亿元增加到接近2万亿元，取得了较大的跨越，积蓄了较强的后劲。这说明，福建已经走上好中有快的发展轨道上，为福建今后的跨越发展奠定了坚实基础。
展望未来五年，福建的前景同样令人鼓舞。在国家层面上，有一系列的政策支持，特别是“三规划两方案”的强力支撑；在本省层面上，福建对经济发展、城镇化建设、人民生活、改革开放、闽台合作、文化强省、生态省建设、依法治省等各方面工作都作出了胸有成竹的部署，每一项工作部署，都有具体的举措、有效的载体、突破的重点，思路非常清晰。相信在福建省委、省政府的正确领导下，福建一定能够抓住机遇，乘势而上，实现新的提升、新的跨越。
