从臨摹毛澤東到再繪《韓熙載夜宴圖》-兼談我的古典寫意繪畫
(English summary: In this lecture on March 18, 2-4 pm, renowned oil painter Sun Xiuting will share with the audience his experience as an artist. He spent his early days learning to paint by copying portraits of Mao Zedong and subsequently became an accomplished painter in the classical style. Among other things, he will discuss how he recreated in oil the 10th-century narrative painting The Night Revels of Han Xizai. See photo above.)
華美人文學會於3月18日(星期日)下午2時至4時特邀著名畫家孫秀庭做專題講座，介紹他的創作經歷和藝術感受。孫秀庭1980年天津美術學院油畫系畢業, 1990年至1996年在西德布倫瑞克造型藝術學院學習自由繪畫，1993年暑期在西班牙塞維亞美術學院院長畫室進修油畫。2006年至2007年分別在天津現代藝術學院、天津美術學院及天津科技大學授課（其中包括人體素描、人體油畫及畢業班創作課）。2008年、2011年在北京師範大學授課。2010年受聘為中國藝術研究院畫家。 孫秀庭的講座分為三個部分。在第一部分中，他將介紹1、他初學繪畫的年代；2、唯美的階段；3、靈魂決定形式的階段；4、抽象繪畫；5、從印象派進入到中國古典題材創作；6、繪畫基本元素與當代性的整合。在第二部分中，孫先生將力圖簡要分析兩個層面的美術命題：首先是"內容與形式"的問題，進而涉及到的是"主、客觀的"關係。他還將探討中國美術現狀的幾種作用力：反、正之間的、平衡與失衡、線性前進與循環。在第三部分中，孫先生將重點談一談他的古典寫意主義美學觀以及他是如何再繪這幅中國十大傳世名畫之一的《韓熙載夜宴圖》。
孫秀庭油畫個展「古韻新風：韓熙載紐約夜宴圖」將於2012年3月20日至24日在Chelsea的林碟畫廊（DIB Gallery）舉行（547 West 27th Street, New York, NY），共展出包括他的巨幅古典寫意主義代表作「韓熙載夜宴圖」（三聯畫660cm x 240cm）等30餘幅作品，其中部分作品曾參加巴黎、馬德里、費城的國際藝術大展，深獲好評。歡迎參觀。
