Dear Friend, Below is an article about how to complain to FCC. 這是一封很重要的郵件!請向美國管理廣播電視的FCC投訴 Rush Limbaugh利用電台節目號公然污辱和岐視華人的行為。 In law, hate speech is any speech, gesture or conduct, writing, or display which is forbidden because it may incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected individual or group, or because it disparages or intimidates a protected individual or group. The law may identify a protected individual or a protected group by race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or other characteristic.[3] In some countries, a victim of hate speech may seek redress under civil law, criminal law, or both. In some countries, such as the United States, hate speech laws have been held to be incompatible with free speech.[4 January 10, 2011 Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., said in a Monday afternoon conference call that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should work harder to sanction broadcasts that could incite people to violence. "No one owns the airwaves," Slaughter said, "They are owned by the people." Noting that she was not up on the current state of FCC regulations, Slaughter thought that during the recent health care debate, "she really heard" exhortations to violence... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Wednesday January 19, 2011 during an afternoon with Rush Limbaugh on his radio program. Mr. Limbaugh mocked the Chinese people, their language and their culture in honor of the Chinese President's official state visit. Whether mr. Limbaugh thought it was funny, just a joke or what ever he thought. Mr. Limbaugh has to respect the rules of the FCC and the wishes of the American people who allow him to utilize our radio air waves to make a profit from his radio broadcasts. If you were offended by the recent actions of Rush Limbaugh or any Radio talk show host you have the right to file a complaint with the FCC, and request public hearings to determine whether racism and/or hate speech should become prohibited on America's radio air waves. http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2011/01/rush-limbaugh-mocks-chinese-president-hu-jintao.html Here is how to file a complaint: Step # 1: go too: www.fcc.gov Step # 2: choose " file a complaint " on the bottom left side Step # 3: type of complaint = broadcast [then choose "next"] Step # 4: Complaint category = Unauthgorized, Obscene, bias, unfair, etc, etc [then choose next] Step # 5: complete the complain form, including your complaint Here is an example of my complaint regarding the recent activity by Rush Limbaugh: I am deeply concerned about blatant racism expressed by radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh over federally regulated radio air waves in the United States of America. On January 19, 2011 during his radio broadcast, Mr. Limbaugh mocked Chinese people, Chinese language and Chinese culture. If the FCC prohibits obscenities and criminal dialog over regulated radio air waves, I find it hard to understand how obvious racism can be transmitted over the same federally regulated air waves. With that said, I am respectfully requesting the FCC address my concerns in public hearings. I believe the public has a right to investigate racism and hate speech on America's radio air waves, and in particular the conduct of Rush Limbaugh promoting racism upon the Chinese people during his radio broadcasts. In closing, I would like to state that obvious racism for any purpose should not and can not be tolerated.… |
