亞特蘭大中華專業人士協會、北美公共衛生論壇、亞特蘭大現代中文學校北校家長協會，將於12月10日中午12時15分起，邀請徐西雁、徐福潔、丁煥成三位從事流感預防的專家，在該校舉辦流感演講。
徐西雁是微生物學家，講題為「流感概況 ABC」，簡介流感和流感疫苗的選擇以及全球流感監測系統。
徐福潔為醫學博士和流行病學博士，講題是「致命的病菌─你該知道哪些信息?」講敘新興的傳染病及傳染方式、非典病毒，以及目前在傳染病預防方面的工作進展。
丁煥成是流感疫苗的專家，她將以「流感疫苗─保護你自己和身邊你愛的人」為題，說明誰應該接受流感疫苗，誰應該打兩針流感疫苗，特殊人群，和有關流感疫苗的統計。

赴台讀大學海外聯招受理申請
海外華人子赴台灣升讀大學近年來日愈流行，計畫明年入學者，若欲透過海外聯招會（含個人申請與聯合分發），目前已開始接受申請。僑委會特別提醒，依據海外聯招會委員會議決議，明年開始的新學年度，申請人如已經台灣各大學校院單獨招收僑生入學管道錄取，即不得再向僑務委員會提出申請。明年度僑生個人申請新制報名，已自2011年11月15日開始，至12月31日止，訂2012年3月底放榜；聯合分發制報名自2012年2月1日起至2月28日止，2012年6月中旬放榜。

選擇個人申請者，申請人可至多選填三個校系志願，經海外聯招會審查通過並按各生志願序、名額分發。「個人申請」未獲錄取者則進入「聯合分發」。申請資格為在海外出生連續居留迄今，或最近連續居留海外滿六年以上，並已取得當地居留證及能獲得當地政府發給回程簽證，並經海外保薦單位查證屬實者。申請就讀大學醫學、牙醫及中醫學系者，其連續居留年限為八年以上。最近連續居留海外六年或八年期的計算，以簡章申請時間截止日為計算基準日，往前回溯推算六年或八年。計算至2012年8月31日始符合簡章所定連續居留海外年限規定者，亦得申請，但須簽具切結書，再經僑務委員會審查。報名方式為兼採書面及網路方式，可先至海外聯招會網站（網址:http://www.overseas.ncnu.edu.tw/content/a10）登錄個人基本資料並選填志願後，列印各項報名表格，並備齊報名應繳文件後，向芝加哥文教中心報名。申請人若無法至網站登錄資料，可自行下載表格或洽芝加哥文教服務中心廖小姐，電話(630)323-2440。

身份証遺失新規定:
重要常識: 身份證遺失 → 法令修改了，應先打電話至戶政事務所掛失，花三分鐘，絕不浪費還有保自己的權益。也是為不讓不法之徒有機可趁，身份証遺失時，請千萬記得：
(1)向警察局備案遺失 →錯誤示範
(2)開立遺失三聯單 →錯誤示範
(3)向金融聯合徵信中心登錄遺失記錄→錯誤示範
一般民眾身份證遺失或被竊或被搶，直覺會向警察單位報遺失 →錯誤示範

<<正確做法 >>
先打電話至戶政事務所掛失。應馬上準備：
1. 二月內大頭照黑白彩色均可，(二吋)
2.規費 200元
3.帶印章及戶口名簿正本或駕照正本[最後領到的畢業證書正本 (役男可帶退伍令正本 ) ! 也可以 ]
4.親自前往戶籍所在地戶政事務所辦理身份證領/補/換發手續。大約5-10 分鐘金資中心也馬上與戶政機關電腦記錄取得連線

2011年第一届“松竹梅”奖学金申请截止日期延期至12月10日
2011年第一届“松竹梅”奖学金评审委员会第一次会议已于11月29日晚举行，为了让更多的校友子女参与本次活动，会议决定将申请截止日期延后至12月10日。欢迎各校友会的校友们积极鼓励和帮助孩子们递交申请。
2011年第一届“松竹梅”奖学金申请程序及发放规则如下：
奖学金名称：*“松竹梅”奖学金
奖学金金额：*本次发放金额为每名获得者$100美元，共$2,000
美元（节余不足部分由南加州北大校友会补齐），可发放给二十名获得者。获奖者同时获得“松竹梅”奖学金获奖证书。
申请人条件：*本次奖学金的发放分为两个年龄组：6～12岁及13～18岁，每组各取十名最终获奖者。父母中至少有一人在中国大陆的高校就读超过一年以上，并为该高校在北美地区的校友会成员。
*奖学金主题：*6～12岁为才艺及中华文化认同；13～18岁为社区服务及中华文化认同。
*具体要求：
1. 填写“松竹梅”奖学金申请表
2. 附主题短文（中、英文皆可）
• 6～12岁题目：做为一名美籍华人，我为什么与众不同？（150字左右，用中文写加分）
• 13～18岁题目：做为一名美籍华人，我对社区有何贡献？（500字左右，用中文写加分）
3. 提供证据：可附有关证书复印件或作品照片或录音/录像（YOUTUBE）链接等。

1. 11月1日开始接受申请，截止日期为11月30日。申请人或父母将申请表、短文及相关文件用电子邮件发至puaascyb@gmail.com (申请表可在www.pku.org 或各校友会网站下载)。

松竹梅野餐会是由南加州地区北京大学、清华大学、交通大学、中国科技大学、复旦大学、浙江大学、南京大学等高校校友联合举办的每年一度的大型活动，自2002年开始至今已经延续了十年，成为南加州地区中国高等院校校友们的一项传统。去年的松竹梅野餐会由南加州北大校友会牵头，在各大高校校友会、各中国学生学者联合会及南加州教授协会、全美中华青年联合会等社区组织及中国银联、雀巢、AMEROASIS、American Vegetable Oil、莲花卫浴、亚太博物馆、国泰银行、中国日报、多维时报等赞助商的大力支持下，活动获得了空前的成功，超过四百多名校友及家属参加了这次活动，并取得近二千美元的节余。经主办单位讨论一致同意将节余用于发放“松竹梅”奖学金，以鼓励校友们的下一代积极参与社区活动，弘扬社区服务的精神，并增加第二代移民对父辈的了解及对中华文化的认同。

We are excited to be holding the Third International on Sport and Society at the Cambridge University, one of the world's oldest and most renowned universities. The conference commences just days before the start of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Participants can experience all of the excitement and anticipation of one of sports greatest events. The International Conference on Sport and Society and its companion International Journal of Sport and Society provide a forum for wide-ranging and interdisciplinary examination of sport, including: the history, sociology and psychology of sport; sports medicine and health; physical and health education; and sports administration and management. This year's conference will also offer a special stream on Disability in Sport.

In addition to an impressive line-up of international plenary speakers, the conference will include paper presentations, workshops, and colloquia submitted by practitioners, teachers and researchers. Presenters may also choose to submit written papers for publication in the fully refereed International Journal of Sport and Society. As some of you probably know, four Boston oversea returnees have registered their companies in Binhai, Shaoxing of Zhejiang province.
