Hello,
We invite you at your school to serve as a host site for SIMIODE''''s Student Competition Using Differential Equation Modeling – SCUDEM to be held on Saturday, 21 April 2018 at sites around the country. SIMIODE – Systemic Initiative for Modeling Investigations and Opportunities with Differential Equations (www.simiode.org) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which fosters the use of modeling in the pivotal STEM course, differential equations through building community, enabling collaboration, providing resources, and offering outreach. We enclose two files, one which fully describes the competition and one which offers an invitation to host as a local site, one of many planned around the country. Bottom line is there is no cost to school and there is an $1100 stipend for ($500) individual site coordinator, ($200) student assistants, and ($400) refreshments and awards. We will be emailing out a number of invitations to schools around the country shortly, but I wanted to offer you the chance to host along with a number of other select schools - some of whom have already agreed.
