美洲中工會舊金山灣區分會將與聖荷西州立大學合作，於4月6日及13日兩個周六，舉行2013年春季短期課程。地點在聖荷西州大工學院。中工會舉行短期課程已有十年歷史。最初目的是讓在校學生、在職人士有機會瞭解不同的科技，「這個課程與其他社團不同之處，是從基礎入門，再深入探討，不止是表面的介紹。」為鼓勵參與及慶祝課程十周年，中工會兩天各提供一台Kindle Fire HD抽獎，另外也提供職場諮詢及工作機會訊息。短期課程共有四門課，均由業界專家講授，由基本理論入手，再衍伸到各領域深度知識。

The ability to negotiate astutely is an essential personal power skill. In Win - Win negotiation there are no losers; both parties accomplish their primary goals, and thereby enhance the strength of their long-term relationship. 第二屆大華府地區「中華杯」青少年漢語朗誦比賽，已正式啟動並接受報名。「中華杯」青少年漢語朗誦比賽由美中實驗學校、哈維中文學校、大專校友會聯合會、馬大孔子學院及多社區團體聯合舉辦，去年首屆「中華杯」有近200名選手參賽。今年大賽接受大華府地區18歲以下、在美國居住四年以上的華裔及其他族裔青少年參加，報名網站：https://sites.google.com/site/chinesepoemreciting。參賽選手不必交報名費及其他任何費用。報名截止日期為3月30日，正式比賽從4月6日開始，比賽將分小學A組、小學B組、中學組和高中組，初賽朗誦指定作品已在網站公佈，複賽和決賽自選作品則限制在三分鐘以內。非華裔學生適當加分。最後各組將選出一、二、三名，授予獎金、獎杯和獲獎證書。
