8th WORKSHOP
STRUCTURAL DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS: Computational Aspects - SDS2014 Hotel Porto Giardino, Capitolo-Monopoli, Italy, June 10-13, 2014
The main aim of this workshop is to put together researchers of different areas, in particular Mathematics and Engineering, to give the opportunity to discuss recent developments in the computational aspects of:
Numerical methods for ODEs;
Discontinuous ODEs;
Piecewise-smooth dynamical systems;
Dynamical systems with variable structure;
Ensemble Control of Linear Dynamical Systems;
Genetic and Medical Applications.
Both numerical and theoretical aspects on the previous topics will be welcome. Poster session: To stimulate the participation of PhD students, there will be also a poster session. Students who have already made some progress on their thesis can present a synopsis of their work, whereas students who are just beginning their thesis can present an overview of what they are proposing to study.
Special Issue: the papers or posters presented at the workshop can be submitted to Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics (JCAM, Elsevier) or Mathematics and Computer in Simulation (MATCOM, Elsevier). The submitted papers will be subject to the regular reviewing rules of the journal.

二次大戰後的嬰兒潮族群正進入老年，如何度過舒適的晚年成為目前社會關注的議題，尤其來美打拚數十年的華裔耆老大多抱著「落葉歸根」的傳統觀念，希望日後能回到中國或台灣養老。中國廣播網將於17日(周二)下午1時30分在法拉盛華僑文教中心舉辦「海外華人歸國養老論壇」，從醫療保險、法律和稅務各方面探討回鄉養老的規畫。
隨著新移民老人人口急速增加，養老成為每個家庭可能面臨的問題。許多子女忙於工作而無暇照顧年邁的父母，因此許多華裔耆老選擇回鄉生活一段時間，一方面有熟悉的生活與飲食，另一方面也可和親朋好友交流以打發時間，海外華人歸國養老成為趨勢。歸國前可能有許多手續必須處理，中國廣播網與安康寧之友會、凱健國際老年康復護理機構合作，透過講座解答回國養老後可能面臨的問題。隨著美國稅法改變，老人回國後在美資產若未妥善處理，可能面臨遭政府拍賣等後果，因此有意返鄉養老的民眾應多加吸收相關資訊，本場講座正是宣導和教育耆老相關知識。文教中心地址：法拉盛41路133-32號, NY。

中英文字游戏也是我历来的最爱,尤其你传来的这个小品很幽默,它的含义很有趣，令人回味，所以多花了一些时间玩赏。那个翻译示范的普通版，我看原译者对原文并没有弄懂吃透就动手译，那就谈不上好坏美丑了。原文中有几个字我用歪体植入的意思是指其用歪了，用错了。请你比较下面两种对原文的理解，就知道原译文作者没有抓到原文的要领，只是隔靴抓痒。红色字体是我改译的。你看出了不同之处吗？对于翻译首先要吃透原文的意思，然后是说清楚，不怕多用点文句，以后才是修辞和变花样。然否？
【英文】 You say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains. You say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines. You say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when wind blows. This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.

北美華人會計師協會宣布近日將舉行兩場演講會，「肥咖條款來敲門，你該怎麼辦？」由於華人非常關心該項議題，8日（周日）及14日（周六）下午12時半至5時，分別在橙縣華僑文教服務中心及洛杉磯華僑文教服務中心舉行的歲末年終稅務、理財及法律講座，將邀請會計師講解該項議題。協會每年均與洛僑和橙僑合辦多項免費稅務講座。近年由於國稅局將海外帳戶視為查帳重點，FBAR及肥咖條款（FATCA俗稱）已成為國稅局清查海外金融資產及銀行帳戶最佳利器。鑑於肥咖條款將於2014年在全球各國實施，海外銀行需提供美籍或綠卡存戶資料給國稅局，勢必對僑民造成深遠及廣泛影響，因此將舉行的講座這項議題仍是重點。首場演講會地址：2901 W.
